Daihatsu's corporate commercials have started airing on SUN-TV, the channel with arguably the highest viewership among Daihatsu employees.
Have you seen them yet? They're shown during live broadcasts of Hanshin Tigers professional baseball games.

Daihatsu's corporate commercials have started airing on SUN-TV, the channel with arguably the highest viewership among Daihatsu employees.
Have you seen them yet? They're shown during live broadcasts of Hanshin Tigers professional baseball games.
Actually, the people appearing in the commercials are real Daihatsu employees.
You might even spot someone you know on screen!

For this installment of DAIHATSU ONE!, Fujikawa from the Internal Communications Department interviewed the cast members to hear their thoughts on the shoot!
Whether you’ve seen the commercials or not, we’d love for you to learn about the thoughts that went into making them!

Thoughts on the Commercial Shoot

In stark contrast to Daihatsu car commercials and the brand commercials that have aired since October 2025, this time, our employees starred in and filmed “fun commercials” that are sure to make you chuckle. I was really struck by how there was constant laughter on set and how everyone seemed to be having a great time throughout the shoot.
The spirit behind it all was “getting serious about fun things.”

I think that dedication to seriously pursuing “fun”—even at work—is a mindset that’s truly unique to Daihatsu, a company that has brought countless unique cars to the world.

Although it takes a different form, these commercials are    still a creation that we at Daihatsu are bringing to the world.
Let’s hear from the employees who did their absolute best to put a smile on viewers’ faces!

#1 “Open Communication”

What kind of company do you imagine Daihatsu to be?
If you’re thinking, “A company with the kind of open communication unique to the Kansai region”... you’re absolutely right!
In this commercial, we’ve tried to capture that positive trait of Daihatsu in a comical way.
It’s so open—maybe even a little too open—that it actually feels like a bit of a problem (lol).

This is What Daihatsu’s All About!

I asked the cast members where specifically they feel this sense of openness!

I think there’s a sense of openness that’s unique to Osaka, in a good way.
Even on the day of the shoot, we immediately hit it off as fellow Daihatsu colleagues , despite it being our first time meeting!

The atmosphere has become more open with each passing year, and lately, I’ve really been feeling a sense of unity that transcends departmental boundaries!

I see! It seems everyone is actually experiencing this open atmosphere firsthand!
But even so, don’t you have to be careful around your bosses and senior colleagues?

Most people here are very friendly, so age doesn’t really matter.
Once, I drew a caricature of my general manager, and far from getting upset at me, he actually liked it. He still uses it to this day (laughs).

Even when my boss is busy, he makes time to talk with me, so I feel comfortable asking for advice without hesitation.
He always encourages us younger employees, which makes it easy to speak up.

For this commercial shoot, my general manager, who has always recognized my work, personally asked me to give it a try, so I went for it!

So, regardless of age, there’s open communication because we’re all part of One Team!
When you put it that way, I’m sure many Daihatsu employees can relate.
It was clear that even people meeting for the first time had fun during the shoot, but how did the shoot itself go?

I had fun while keeping in mind that it was work, after all!
Since these kinds of commercials spark conversations at work, I hope we see more of them.

Plus, it’s so classic Daihatsu that it’s on SUN-TV!
As a Hanshin Tigers fan, this really gets me excited!!

Choosing SUN-TV is so classic Osaka, isn’t it?
There are a lot of Hanshin Tigers fans here at the office, so I’m hoping lots of employees will check out this fun commercial!
I wonder if there are other fun things about working at Daihatsu.

The whole team is working hard to make our daily work fun!

I t's not just about enjoying ourselves. Because each of us thinks about our own role and takes initiative, we're able to make Daihatsu such a fun place to work, don’t you think?

Just like with this shoot, we’re given the chance to really go all out on fun projects!

Thank you so much for your words of passion!

Rare Alternate Cut: The Version That Almost Aired?

We’re giving you a special look at an alternate cut—one of several filmed but never actually broadcast!
It’s just as fun as the aired version, so it’s a must-see!!

#2 “It Starts with the Small Things”

The second commercial you just saw placed a strong emphasis on looking at faces.
I wonder if some of you were reminded of a scene from a famous movie.
I’m also interested in how the employee came to appear in this commercial!

“One Small Step”: Each Employee’s Challenge

Yura, Kyoto Engineering Service Dept., Ikeda Kyoto Manufacturing Div.

Could you tell us how you came to appear in this commercial?

It all started during a project where people shared their personal challenges under the theme “One Small Step.” For my response, I posted, “When someone speaks to me, I stop what I’m doing, look at them, and listen to what they say.”

Why did you decide to take on the challenge of looking at people’s faces?

I’d always made a point of making eye contact with all my coworkers, but there were times I’d neglect to do so amid the busyness, so I wanted to make sure to always remind myself to do it!

So, appearing in the commercial wasn’t part of the plan from the start, then.
What are your thoughts now that you’ve actually done it?

It came up so suddenly that at first I was worried about whether I could pull it off...
But everyone around me was so enthusiastic, and I thought, if it’ll it would liven up Daihatsu as a whole, I’d give it a shot!
It was a valuable experience, and I’m grateful that the company supported me in taking on this challenge as an employee.

In a way, appearing in the commercial was a challenge in itself!
It seems the concept this time was to portray behavior unique to Daihatsu in a “fun” way. In your opinion, what aspect of your performance best captured that Daihatsu spirit?

I’d say it was the way I engaged with each person individually and built rapport with them.
At Daihatsu, there’s a close relationship between management and employees, so I think that aligns with my approach.

Thank you very much!
Please keep taking on new challenges, “one small step” at a time!

The Driving Force Behind DAIHATSUMEI

Although we only spoke with the people who appeared in the commercials, all our employees share the same spirit—inventing day by day to bring you new DAIHATSUMEI products.
Our employees threw themselves wholeheartedly into making these commercials, with the hope of making even just one more person smile.
Please be sure to keep an eye out for them!
