The second commercial in the brand ad campaign "DAIHATSUMEI for me," titled "DAIHATSUMEI for my work," has been released!

First, please watch the 30-second commercial!

A catchy melody and the world of “me at work”

This time, the spotlight is on the Hijet series, Daihatsu vehicles that have long supported work across Japan.

Set to the kind of melody you find yourself humming, “Because it’s small...,” the commercial tells the story of a father and son who run a flower shop.

After watching it, some of you may find that melody lingering in your head.
(It kept playing in mine for quite a while...)

Takehara Pistol appears in this commercial. Even without saying much, his expressions and presence quietly convey the time he has spent working, which is one of the highlights.

The music is “Present” by JITTERIN’JINN. El Kijima’s voice creates a gentle, somewhat nostalgic atmosphere and softly envelopes the entire commercial.

A story of a father and son and their Hijet, beginning with what they can do

At the heart of the story are a father who has run a flower shop for many years and his son.
When the son sees his father coughing while loading flowers into the Hijet, he worries about him while taking on work he is not yet used to.

Along the way, he discovers his own way of “doing what he can,” selling flowers through “Nibako,” using the Hijet’s cargo bed.

The line he says to his father, “Start with what you can do, right?” overlaps with the words his father once said to him as a child, “Start with what you can do,” making it an unexpectedly moving scene.

At the end of the commercial, the e-Hijet, an electric vehicle announced in February, also appears.
As the son charges it, his father comes over pushing a cart.
The story is portrayed in a memorable way, passed from father to son and continuing into the future.

The photo captures a moment from filming the charging scene. We hope you get a small sense of the atmosphere on set, and please be sure to pay attention to the e-Hijet that appears at the end!

We want to be a part of each person’s life and work, and continue supporting their working lives.
That is the thought behind this commercial, “DAIHATSUMEI for my work.”

We hope you will watch it and discover a familiar DAIHATSUMEI of your own!
